BUSINESS INFORMATION

Customer Profile:

REDC's customers are small business owners in the Greater Hickory Metro region, who need financing to grow and expand their businesses.

Primary Services:

Direct financing is provided for projects involving the acquisition of major fixed assets (real estate and major equipment items), under the US Small Business Administration's 504 Loan Program. Assistance for other types of business financing projects consists of advice and information about other SBA programs and preparation of loan application packages. Fees may apply for the services provided. 

ACCOUNTABILITY

Funding source(s): REDC is supported by fees charged for loans and certain services provided.  REDC is accountable to the US SBA for its activities as a certified development company.

Other parties to which organization may be accountable: REDC is governed by a Board of Directors and a 26 person membership, appointed by the County Commissioners of Alexander, Burke, Caldwell and Catawba Counties. Members include representatives from local economic development organizations, small business owners, private sector lendors, local government and business organizations.

Organization’s objectives for serving the business community:

REDC's purpose is to promote small business growth and development in the Greater Hickory Metro region.
