BUSINESS INFORMATION

Customer Profile:

Downtown businesses, numbering approximately 200, including 36 retailers and 8 restaurants.  85 of these businesses are members of the association.  Owners of businesses considering locating downtown are also part of the customer base.

Primary Services:

To project and promote a positive image of downtown Hickory.  Services include an association  newsletter, public relations activities, co-op advertising, locating and promoting available space for potential new businesses, operating and promoting operating 2 annual downtown festivals and working closely with the city council and city departments on a variety of issues.

 

ACCOUNTABILITY

Funding source(s): The Association’s main source of funding is the Oktoberfest and  Hickory Hops along with Hickory Alive.  Membership dues comprise the balance of the sources of funds.  City provides staff person as executive director.

Other parties to which organization may be accountable: The City of Hickory and the Arts Council
