Business and Industry Training Customized Training & Development 2550 Highway 70 SE or Crystal Glenn, Director, Industrial Training BUSINESS INFORMATION Customer Profile: New or existing businesses in Catawba and Alexander Counties. Primary Services: Provide all aspects of customized training and development including needs assessments and job profiles for all businesses. The types of training available include Quality Training, Lean and Constraint Management, Six Sigma, Project Management, OSHA/Safety, Industrial Management Skills, and Leadership/Management. Funding is available through Focused Industrial Training (FIT) and New and Expanding Industry (NEIT). FIT funding is available to all manufacturing businesses in Catawba and Alexander County for workers needing to renew their skills and technical knowledge. NEIT funding is available to all manufacturing businesses that have created at least 12 or more new full-time jobs in North Carolina. (New employment must be in excell of the previous 3-year maximum.) ACCOUNTABILITY Funding source(s): Other parties to which organization may be accountable: Organization’s objectives for serving the business community: To help businesses maintain their competitive edge through awareness, education, and training opportunities based on business requests, workforce development, and economic development needs. The method(s) that objectives are measured: Training effectiveness surveys for training participants and businesses. Statistics on numbers of trainees, training classes, number of companies, types of training, and training effectiveness are reported annually.
